Darren D. Hawkins
Prior to being named President of YRC Freight, Darren Hawkins was senior vice president of sales and marketing for the company. He brings more than 27 years of experience in the national LTL industry in both operations and sales roles.
Hawkins started his career as a dock supervisor at then Yellow Freight in Memphis, Tennessee and rose through the ranks in a variety of sales and operations roles. Hawkins worked at Yellow Freight from 1991 to 2009 and Con-way Freight from 2009 to 2012 before returning to YRC Freight in 2013.
Hawkins brings a unique mix of expertise in both operations and sales. He is a results driven leader, a clear and motivating communicator and a trusted and empowering manager. His focus throughout his transportation career has been to lead through safety and service.
Hawkins holds a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing and supply chain management from the University of Memphis and currently serves on the school’s Marketing and Supply Chain Advisory Board.

Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing
Tim Haitz has dedicated his career to serving at YRC Freight. He joined the company in 1985 as a dispatcher, and rose through the ranks in a variety of operations, sales and marketing roles over the past 31 years before being promoted to his current position as senior vice president of sales and marketing in 2016.
Prior to being named to his present role, Haitz previously served as vice president of sales and vice president of corporate accounts for two years, where he established a unified sales team with a singular focus on collaboration and growth, uniting the efforts of both local and corporate sales.
In his new role as senior vice president of sales and marketing, he is dedicated to creating market share growth through a customer-centric organization, as well as overseeing the launch of the new Accelerated service line. Haitz holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Michigan State University.

Senior Vice President of Operations
Howard Moshier joined the company in 1989 as a supervisor. During the next 25 years, he rose through the ranks in a variety of operations and sales roles. Eventually he was named Northeast Division Vice President, where he led Sales and Operations. In 2014, he was promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations.
In his current role, Howard is dedicated to providing strategic direction and operational guidance to promote a network that drives superior service. Howard holds a bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Business from Western Michigan University.

Phil J. Gaines
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
Phil Gaines has served as senior vice president and chief financial officer for YRC Freight since September 2013, and also served in the same capacity from March 2009 through March 2012. In this role, he has overall responsibility for the financial operations of the corporation’s largest subsidiary.
During 2009 and 2010, Gaines also served as senior vice president – finance, and senior vice president and chief accounting officer for YRC Worldwide, the parent company.
From July 2008 until the combination of Yellow Transportation and Roadway in March 2009, Gaines served as president of Yellow Transportation, where he was responsible for overall leadership, direction and performance of the organization, consisting of over 20,000 employees across North America.
Gaines began his career at the company in 1989 as a staff accountant and has held a variety of leadership positions at both the parent company and operating-unit levels.
Gaines graduated with highest distinction from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting. He served on the board of directors of CommunityAmerica Credit Union from 1994 through 2011 and was chairman of the board from 2002-2004. Gaines is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
